Shorthanded Warriors Stun Rockets in 115–113 Overtime Thriller

In an exciting NBA game, which was played in Houston, the Golden State Warriors won the match 115-113 in overtime against the Houston Rockets. The game was characterized by highs and lows throughout and both the teams showed their best to ensure victory. The Warriors though without some of their key players still managed to remain calm and play aggressively to end up winning the game. This victory was a contribution of young players and the team stood up even in hard situations.

Podziemski and Melton’s impressive performances

Brandon Podziemski turned out to be the greatest in the win of Golden State. He made 26 points that placed the team in a good position. De’Anthony Melton also gave a brilliant performance as he contributed 23 points and played a vital role in the late moments of the match. During the last few seconds of overtime Melton made a tip-in layup that gave the Warriors a 115-112 lead. Al Horford was also able to help the team with 17 points. It is important to note that even without a star-player Stephen Curry who was out of his 12th consecutive game because of a knee injury, the Warriors could still win thanks to a great collaboration.

Rockets’ Powerful Play by Sheppard and Durant

Reid Sheppard played superbly with the Houston Rockets with a 30-point mark including six three-point baskets. Kevin Durant had contributed 23 points, as well, and carried the team in critical situations. This shot was very vital as Durant had just scored three points in the overtime to reduce the gap, which was even more thrilling. The Alperen Sengun of the Rockets also delivered brilliantly at the appropriate time giving the team the upper hand at the close of the fourth quarter.

The Match Changed in the Final Minutes

The overtime was a tight one and it was a draw until the last three minutes. Podziemski then made a spectacular three-point shot followed by a driving layup to make the Warriors 111-106. A powerful revival then pushed by the Rockets. Durant made a three-point shot to reduce the margin to one point. Nevertheless, the decisive layup of Melton and basket of Horford was what helped the Warriors to win.

A thrilling match headed into overtime

The last few minutes of normal time were also very dramatic. Sengun took the lead with a basket of just under one minute, however, the next second and Horford hit the three-pointer, putting the Warriors back in the lead. Sengun drew the tie once more and the game entered the last few seconds. An ugly decision in the last minute was reversed upon appeal and the game went into overtime. Finally, during the overtime period, Warriors managed to score the advantage in this hard game by being patient and precise in their actions.
